Fifteenth Avenue, Uptown
From south to north, the buildings shift from small, two- or three-story
offices with delicatessens, ice cream shops selling homemade ice cream,
and similar types of small specialty shops on the first floor to, first,
a few old-fashioned inns, and then a small park on the western side of
15th, south of Market Street. Less than fifty yards to a side, there is a
curving path in it, and a few park benches, and a small grassy place
used, to guess by the poles, for volleyball or badminton. North of that,
between Market and Osprey, are old houses, mansions almost, with metal
gates and walls to set them back from the street. Along the street
itself, tall trees tower, cutting off much of the light that should reach
the ground, excepting a small strip in the center of the roadway itself
from which the sky can be seen. Farther north, where 15th joins Osprey
itself, there are a few condominium buildings, with carefully sculpted
bushes around them.
Click. Alicia drops the hammer back after slipping the safety home and then
drops the gun back into her holster. She stands over him, staring at him.
"Good boy. So, from the beginning. What is going on? You are drunk off
your ass, you are attacking fellow Garou, you are tip toeing on veil
breaking, and you are out of control. So, I'm going to give you a full
minute to take a few deep breaths, and just get your head together. If I
see you even so much as twitch wrong, I'm going to get mad." Her voice is
gentle now, finally losing a bit of the edge.
Long distance to Alicia: Cornpop confirms, just to be utterly certain -- you're
in an alley, right? Any description of the alley been given?
Alicia pages: Totally in an alley. Its dark, they are deep into it, and its
blocked off by the way Josh has described it. Alicia is speaking softly
to Josh, Natalie is guarding the entrance with Anthony.
Natalie lets out a breath she didn't realize she was holding, and begins
backing - slowly - toward the street.
You paged Alicia with 'Fortunately, most alleys have drains. And I
bet y'all have been noisy, too.'.
Alicia pages: He sure has, Ali hasn't. :) *winks*
"I'll drink if I damn well want to. 'n 'm not drunk!" He snarls back, growing
defensive. That last point could probably be debated. "I didn't attack
Dak, and I was in the farmhouse... and well aware it ain't allowed there,
but Emma was getting really Physical, it was full moon, so I slipped. You
would've too." He doesn't even bother addressing the other points, by
design or otherwise.
As focussed as they are on watching the street or dealing with the upset
Ahroun, no one notices another set of eyes on the scene. A near-bald,
undersized rat squeezes out of a small space and scuttles silently to
hide within the trash and darkness.
"No, I wouldn't have slipped, because I would not have drunk myself stupid."
Alicia says as calmly as she can. "You did attack Dakota, and I saw the
wounds on her. She wouldn't lie to me, so we'll just assume the worst.
You slipped twice." She cracks her neck to one side, hissing out a
breath. "So what is going on? Stop making up accuses and talk."
"Dakota grabbed you because you were falling down drunk," Nat cuts in, pausing
at the end of the alley to make a quick check for witnesses. "You came
stumbling down the stairs and she wanted to make sure you weren't going
to break your neck as well as keep you from running."
Anthony takes a few steps further into the alley towards the interrogation,
mostly out of curiosity, judging by the expresson on his face.
"Full moon." Josh answers with a serious edge to his voice. "'s the fucking
moon. 'swas big 'n shit, in case you didn' notice. 'n 'll drink if I
bloody well want to."
"I don't recall you being of the legal drinking age, Joshua." Alicia says with
a smirk. "And if you were smart, you'd realize that drinking on the full
moon is stupid. So.. why /did/ you get smashed up for? I want some real
answers here Josh."
"Looks clear, Alicia," Natalie reports, giving the street a last look-see. "If
you need another set of hands, give me a ring. I'm gonna go back up his
trail, make sure he didn't drop anything, then have some nice relaxing
coffee. You gonna be all right with him?"
"I'm cool Natalie. Keep the gate open." Alicia says, snagging him by the
collar, tugging him up to his feet, staring at him. "We're going inside
as well."
Joshua starts to answer the question, when he's yanked up by Alicia. "Please...
'm serious. Stop it. Just... stop it." The Ahroun definitely is pleading
with the Gaian, trying to pull back out of her grasp.
"Straight down to the basement," the Walker agrees, giving the Gaian a hard
stare. "And he - and you - are out of there by dawn. You do any clean
up." With that parting shot she heads back down the street. Hands in
pockets, deceptively casual. Yup. Just a little walk before bedtime,
honest.
Natalie opens the gate to Dominion, disappearing up the driveway.
Natalie has left.
There is a snort under Alicia's breath at Natalie's final words, eyes rolling
slightly, before she turns her stare into Josh, then starts dragging him
to the alleyway. "Don't even think about putting up a fight. We are going
to go in, out of the public eye and have ourselves a lil talk. I'm not in
the mood to have the cops come down here and start fucking with our shit."
Especially in this part of town, where the cops _do_ answer phonecalls in a
timely fashion.
"If you need some help -- though, uh, I think you'll be able to handle it,
don't get me wrong -- but, uh, if you do, I'll be upstairs," Anthony says
quietly, falling in step beside Alicia.
The rat snif-snifs, then grooms her whiskers as the noisy drunk boy is dragged
off.
"Then let the hell go of me before I do try some shit." Josh growls back, as he
is pulled out of the Alley. "I'm serious. Stop shovi'n me around. Please."
Letting go of him, Alicia gives him a slight shove forward, growling. "Through
the gate and into the front doors, bro." She says softly under her
breath, right up against his ear.
"I said... back the hell off." He growls back softly. But otherwise, he
complies, making his way through the gate, headed for the front door.
"Goddamn. I ain't no walker. I shouln' have to put up with this shit." He
mutters to himself.
"I don't care if you are mother fucking Thersea, don't tell me what to do."
Alicia says, glaring at him from behind. "I'm trying to resolve this shit
peacefully, since no one else fucking will."
Cornpop waits until the Garou are out of the alley before scuttling along the
wall to its mouth. She peers out, watching, whiskers twitching, blinking
rapidly. Briefly, she bares long yellow incisors, then vanishes back into
the darkness.
"Maybe I don' need yer shit. Maybe 'm just fucking fine without ya, thankya
kindly." He snarls back, sweat still pouring down his brow.
Alicia opens the gate to Dominion, disappearing up the driveway.
Alicia has left.
Joshua opens the gate to Dominion, disappearing up the driveway.
Joshua has left.
